Derby County receive ‘dangerous’ message as £5m transfer green lit

Derby County Closing in on Deal for Promising US Striker Patrick Agyemang

Derby County are reportedly nearing a significant transfer agreement for highly-rated USA forward Patrick Agyemang, with a fee of $7 million expected to secure his services from Charlotte FC. The Rams have already completed the signing of Carlton Morris and now look set to strengthen their attacking options further with the addition of Agyemang.

Tim Howard Describes Agyemang as a “Game-Changer”

Former Manchester United and USA international goalkeeper Tim Howard has heaped praise on Agyemang, calling him a player who “makes things happen.” Speaking to ESPN, Howard emphasized the striker’s ability to influence games through sheer determination and physicality, noting that his impact on the pitch goes beyond statistics.

“Agyemang, for me, I hear different arguments. He’s a number nine that makes things happen – he does,” Howard said. “You can talk about clinical finishing and so on. He makes things happen, he drags people along. I know there’s going to be some people out there who disagree with me. Show me another US number nine who is dangerous.”

Howard further elaborated on the expectations placed on American strikers: “Dangerous can be categorised a bunch of different ways, but he can do things on his own and as a US striker, we’ve talked about this over and over again throughout the years. A US nine has to be able to do things by themselves, on their own.”

Rising Star Making His Mark for Club and Country

Agyemang, who currently plays for MLS side Charlotte FC, has caught attention both domestically and internationally. The 6ft 4in striker has already netted eight goals and provided two assists for his club this season. His performances for the United States national team have been equally impressive, scoring five goals in just nine appearances.

The 21-year-old’s reputation has grown significantly after earning his first national team call-up in January. Currently part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Gold Cup squad, Agyemang recently showcased his abilities by scoring the decisive goal in a group stage match against Haiti.

Deal Nearing Completion as Derby Prioritize Attack

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Agyemang has already given the green light for the move to Pride Park. The addition of the young American forward aligns with Derby County’s ambitions to boost their frontline ahead of the new season. With a physically imposing frame and proven scoring record, Agyemang is seen as a crucial piece in the club’s summer recruitment drive.
