“I am genuinely thrilled” – Ipswich Town instructed to finalise a £5 million striker deal
Derby County and Ipswich Town are vying for the services of American forward Patrick Agyemang.
Ahead of the upcoming season, GiveMeSport reports that both Championship teams are contemplating an approach
for the 24-year-old.
After being relegated from the top division, Kieran McKenna wants to assemble a side that can contend for
promotion to the Premier League this season.
Agyemang might be Liam Delap’s successor in the team for the upcoming campaign, because he was already sold to
Chelsea.
Adam Wilkin, a fan commentator for FLW in Ipswich, stated that he is thrilled about the possibility of Agyemang
joining the team.
He thinks it would be worth taking the chance to sign the 24-year-old from MLS team Charlotte FC because he
possesses many of the traits you look for in a striker.
Wilkin told Football League World, “I’m actually really excited by the links to Patrick Agyemang.”
“He seems like the most qualified striker to take Liam Delap’s job out of all the ones I’ve seen so far.

He appears to be a solid runner in behind given his abilities and speed, and I believe that many talented players are
currently competing in the MLS, regardless of its current level, which has, in my opinion, improved recently.
I believe it is of good quality because many South American players utilise it as a stepping stone to a move to Europe.
Few American strikers have moved to the Premier League or the Championship.
“I think he has all the raw qualities to be a very good Championship striker at just 24 years old, and the knack for
finding the net isn’t something you lose too much,” the player said. “I think more the Championship than the
Premier League, so I don’t think that would be an issue.”
“The Championship may be stronger, but he has excellent footwork, impressive dribbling stats, and the ability to
take on opponents.”
“I’ve seen some highlights, and he’s finishing with both feet. He also appears to be fairly skilled in the air, and he has
headers, so he’s a bit of an all-around striker.”
Agyemang’s physical attributes are readily apparent, and his talent is quite promising.
There are no assurances, though, that he will transition from MLS to the Championship without incident.
The obvious analogy is Daryl Dike, although it’s hard to say how effectively someone of that calibre can cross the
Atlantic given his injury problems.
However, if a fair price can be negotiated, perhaps a team like Ipswich would be willing to take the chance.
