Aberdeen winger Adam Emslie a target for Scottish Championship club.

After a successful loan season with Cove Rangers, the 19-year-old is coveted by numerous clubs, including one that was recently relegated from the Scottish Premiership.
Ross County is interested in signing Aberdeen winger Adam Emslie permanently. The 19-year-old, who scored 13 goals on loan at Paul Hartley’s League One Cove Rangers last season, is being pursued by the Staggies, who were relegated via the Premiership play-off against Livingston in May.
Dingwall manager Don Cowie, who is also desperate to keep 18-goal Northern Ireland international Ronan Hale, needs more firepower to help his team return to the top flight at the first time of asking. County intends to play wingers in the second division next season, and they will have plenty of options with Emslie joining summer signings Gary Mackay-Steven, Jay Henderson, and George Robesten.
However, the Press and Journal knows that County is just one of several clubs interested in right-sided wideman Emslie.
It is also reported that the highly rated youngster could yet stay with Jimmy Thelin’s Dons.
Emslie’s breakout campaign with Cove
Emslie not only scored impressively in 35 Cove starts, but he also assisted seven times.
Emslie had such a strong influence at Cove that the Dons recalled him from his loan term on transfer deadline day in January to train with Thelin’s team before returning to the Balmoral Stadium.
The youthful attacker rose through the ranks at Aberdeen but is yet to make a first-team debut. He is also on loan with Highland League club Formartine United from 2023 to 2024.
Cove and the Dons are now developing a new SFA-led co-operation loan relationship that would allow young players to join a lower-league team but switch between the parent and cooperation clubs throughout the season to gain more playing time.
Club on search for new keeper after Amissah’s surprise return south
Ross County, meantime, announced this morning that custodian Jordan Amissah has left the club for free to join Burton Albion on a two-year contract. The custodian, who joined Dingwall on a free transfer in December due to the injury of then-number one Ross Laidlaw, inked an extension with the club in March that would last until 2027.
However, in his most recent two-year deal, he included a condition that allowed him to leave for free if the club was demoted.
Amissah, who was on loan at Burton in 2023, wanted to be closer to home in England for family reasons.
