Norwich City: Liam Manning backed for success by Bryan Gunn.

Bryan Gunn, a cult legend, is backing ‘hometown boy’ Liam Manning to bring back the good times at Carrow Road.
Manning, who was born in Norwich, was scouted this summer as the Canaries’ top choice to duplicate his top six achievement at Bristol City the previous season. In a bustling start to the transfer season, City have made six permanent signings, including first-choice goalie Vladan Kovacevic.
The Serbian replaced Angus Gunn as Norfolk’s number one last week, and Manning’s father, Bryan, believes he will make an impact. “It’s a great appointment,” he remarked. “Liam is a Norwich native who has recently returned to his hometown. But he’s gone on and done some great work at other teams, which is clearly what the sporting director, Ben Knapper, has noticed. As you can see, they are already looking for new signings.
“A handful of out-of-contract players have left, including my son Angus, and they’ve immediately replaced him with Kovacevic, the Sporting Lisbon custodian, and I believe bringing in Jacob Wright from Manchester City is another indicator they’re active in the market. “That’s wonderful for Norwich City fans.
I’m sure they’re looking forward to not only the new season, but also the resumption of the East Anglian derby and another chance to defeat Ipswich.” Gunn, speaking to Sky Sports at the Transfer Room golf day, believes City has to make more quality additions to stay in the promotion race.
“Promotion is always challenging. There are only three teams capable of doing it. “You need to try to be up there, certainly in the playoff positions, with a few weeks left in the season,” he said. “It’s a long season, and 46 games is a tough season. They must assemble a strong squad and recruit high-quality players. “Liam did it last season for Bristol City.
Norwich City was in the play-offs a few seasons ago. They’ve been there and are aware of the situation. The roster appears to be new and fresh, and it will be intriguing to see how they begin the season. As a former Norwich City player, I’m hoping they do exceptionally well.
