Lawrence Shankland ‘agrees’ Hearts contract in major boost after decision to ‘reject big money from abroad’.

The new Jambos boss has never given up hope of maintaining Shankland, and he appears ready to achieve his way.

Lawrence Shankland has allegedly agreed to a new deal with Hearts, providing a significant boost to the Tynecastle team.

His current contract in the capital has expired, and he has been free to engage with other teams about a possible move since January, when his contract entered its last six months.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims the Scotland international has agreed to depart from the club after’rejecting large money from elsewhere’, with his camp working hard to make a deal happen.

West Brom were one of the clubs south of the border linked with Shankland, who was thought to have offers from further afield. The news will come as a huge boost to new manager Derek Mcinnes, who earlier claimed that he had not given up hope that the player will choose to dedicate his career to Gorgie.

The Jambos are now in a Spanish warm-weather training camp, putting the players through their paces ahead of their return to competitive action in the Premier Sports Cup against Dunfermline Athletic in just ten days.

Following the showdown with Neil Lennon and Co, the Jambos will face Hamilton, Stirling Albion, and Dumbarton as they look to comfortably survive the group stage of the league and secure a knockout position before the new Premiership season begins.

Gorgie has had a busy summer in terms of transfers, with new recruits like as Elton Kabangu and Claudio Braga.

However, keeping crucial skipper Shankland, who has scored 68 goals in 137 games for the team It will be seen as a major coup.

Mcinnes previously claimed the following about Shankland: “I’ll leave that up to the club to try to resolve. “I’m not going to give up on this. While it is not a ‘no’ ‘We need to keep that door open.

And we We just have to hope it can be fixed. “But we’re not in a position to say definitively one way or the other, and while we still have a chance, we’ll see where it takes us. “But I think I’ve made it clear that Lawrence is a boy I want to work with. “As a manager, you set your objectives and want to work with the players you want to work with.

“I’m well used to it in my career, not getting everything I want, but I would love the opportunity for Lawrence to be with us this season and while we still have a chance, we’ll hang onto that.”
