Tyne-Wear Rivals Eye Mattéo Guendouzi Move
Newcastle United and Sunderland are reportedly going head-to-head in pursuit of Lazio midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi, according to fresh reports from Italy, relayed by Sport Witness. The former Arsenal player, currently plying his trade in Serie A, appears to be on the radar of both North East clubs during this busy transfer window.
While Sunderland are said to have already initiated contact with Lazio, Newcastle are also keeping close tabs on the situation. Aston Villa are another Premier League side believed to be monitoring the 26-year-old, whose contract reportedly contains a €50 million (£43 million) release clause.
However, Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly reluctant to part ways with the Frenchman, and sources suggest this might be a case of agents trying to generate interest rather than any imminent deal. As of now, no formal offers have been submitted.
Patrick Vieira Plots Triple Arsenal Raid for Genoa
Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, now managing Serie A outfit Genoa, is believed to be plotting a move for three current Gunners players as he looks to bolster his squad.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Genoa are targeting Reiss Nelson, Fábio Vieira, and Albert Sambi Lokonga, with plans to bring all three in on loan deals this summer. The report claims the Italian club considers all three to be realistic targets, with Arsenal open to discussions over temporary departures.
Vieira’s efforts could be complicated, however, by interest from another Arsenal legend – Cesc Fabregas. Now head coach of Serie B side Como, Fabregas is reportedly “monitoring” the same trio and may ask his club to make their own loan moves. There’s currently no suggestion of permanent transfers from either Italian side.

James McAtee and Dominic Calvert-Lewin Linked with St James’ Park Switch
Manchester City’s James McAtee could be on the move this summer, with Football Insider reporting that the talented young forward is planning to leave the Etihad in pursuit of regular first-team football.
Both Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are said to be weighing up potential moves, with the 21-year-old playmaker catching the eye after his Player of the Match display in the European Under-21 Championship final. Forest have long been linked with McAtee, while Newcastle’s reported interest is a relatively new development.
In the same report, Newcastle are also named among the clubs considering a move for former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, now a free agent. Fulham are also reportedly keen, as the Magpies continue exploring attacking options in the market.
