Sheffield United ace Gustavo Hamer’s stance on a potential departure from Bramall Lane has been revealed amid links to both Leeds United and PSV Eindhoven.

The Blades’ creator-in-chief was named as the Championship’s standout performer at the EFL Awards on April 27th, just weeks before his side missed out on a return to the Premier League in the most agonising of fashions against Sunderland in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Hamer is now working under the third boss of his current spell at Bramall Lane, as former Hull City head coach, Ruben Selles, was recently appointed as Chris Wilder’s successor as United’s American ownership group, COH Sports, continue to take a data-driven approach to goings-on in this part of the Steel City.
Exit talk has surrounded the Dutch-Brazilian maestro for quite some time given his performances during the club’s dismal top-flight campaign two seasons ago, and it has only heightened since the club’s crushing defeat in North London last month.
But, despite the potential for the 28-year-old to feature in next season’s UEFA Champions League, it is believed that Hamer is leaning more towards a Premier League move, which comes as a major boost to one of the Blades’ Yorkshire rivals.
Gus Hamer transfer stance revealed as Leeds United, PSV move to sign Sheffield United ace

After a string of outstanding performances in Sky Blue, the former Coventry City player transferred to S2 for a reputed £15 million in August 2023. Under Paul Heckingbottom and the aforementioned Wilder, this theme has been strongly maintained.
It was announced in April that Leeds had taken action to sign Hamer when Georginio Rutter left, demonstrating their long-standing and firm interest in the player. The Whites decided not to pursue the £20 million threshold after their £13 million proposal was quickly rejected after his relegation release clause expired.
It has since been reported that Daniel Farke has both Hamer and his former Norwich City colleague, Emi Buendia, as two potential options to bolster Leeds’ creative department.
PSV’s interest was registered by Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagsblad, with a report stating that Hamer could be available for a fee in the region of €8 million-€12 million when taking bonuses and add-ons into account, although the journalist would later report that it remains to be seen whether last season’s Eredivisie champions would heighten their interest.
Fellow Dutch publication, Soccernews, has since claimed that whilst PSV are interested in striking a deal, the former Feyenoord and PEC Zwolle man is in favour of moving back to the Premier League during the current transfer window.
