Hull City considered a move for the wing-back in the January transfer window, as per HullLive, and Witcoop seems to suggest he is back on their radar this summer. HCAFC are preparing for another year in the Championship.

O’Dowda, 30, made 43 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff City last season, 42 of which came in the league, and he chipped in with two goals. He couldn’t prevent the Bluebirds from relegation to League One along with Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.

As per Witcoop on X, the Tigers’ new ban on spending fees on players means they won’t be able to lure O’Dowda to East Yorkshire now. Their recruitment plans will need to change now.

After moving to Wales in 2022, O’Dowda told Cardiff City’s website at the time: “I’m delighted. It’s been a long process, from meeting the gaffer and going around the training ground, to actually putting pen to paper. The intent and the passion the manager showed, and also the business that the club has been doing in the transfer window, was something that I want to be part of.”

regarding Callum O’Dowda
Hull City need to bring in a left-back over the next couple of months. HCAFC had to play Sean McLoughlin there during the latter stages of the last campaign, whilst Ryan Giles is facing an uncertain future.
