Two players have angered their club after negotiations with Nottingham Forest
With a focus on European football for the upcoming season, Nottingham Forest is looking to add players this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo will want to make sure that the team has enough players in every position because they will be playing more games in 2025–2026.
Igor Jesus will compete with Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood for a spot in the Forest squad the next season after joining to strengthen the front line.
Naturally, more players will join the team, and Forest’s biggest obstacle will be holding onto Anthony Elanga, who Newcastle wants.
This summer, Forest has also experienced some setbacks, and now, a few players who turned down the Reds seem to have infuriated their team.
Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah have angered Juventus
According to TuttoSport, Forest’s present club is upset that the two forwards rejected them at the end of last month.
Weah and Mbangula are thought to have been pleased to join Forest after being told that they were surplus to needs at Juventus.
The players’ futures are now in doubt since the Old Lady didn’t like that they turned down Forest after a fee was agreed upon.
It’s thought that the club are also unhappy that both players expressed their frustration at being left out of a game at the Club World Cup on social media.
Forest will now likely move on from both of these forwards, with others almost certainly on the shortlist to arrive before the new campaign gets underway.
Forest need to move on quickly from Juventus rejection
It’s fair to say that both of these players would have been useful additions to the squad, but Forest can’t dwell on things.
Even though the season is still a long way off, Espirito Santo wants a sizable portion of his team to be there before the ball is kicked.
This season, Forest also has European activity to consider, therefore it’s critical that the squad adds depth and talent before the start of the new campaign.
It is hoped that Forest will emerge from this with a renewed sense of success, given their recruitment team has been mainly impressive in recent windows.
