Even though the new Championship season begins in less than five weeks, Leicester City has not yet named a

manager to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Foxes were officially relegated on April 20, ending their agony following a humiliating season in the top division.

The supporters believed that the one benefit of an early relegation was that it would enable the team to make swift

Premier League campaign with the Blades, interest in him is natural.

He is so well aware of what it takes to succeed at this level, and it’s important to remember that he recently finished a

season in which he guided Sheffield United to 92 points, a total that consistently places them in the top two.

Yet, despite his CV, it’s fair to say that Rohl is the more popular option among the fan base.

You can understand why, to be fair. Before finishing in the middle of the table in his first full season, the German

took over a Sheffield Wednesday squad that was headed for relegation and remarkably kept them up.

Given the incredibly difficult conditions at Hillsborough, it is quite remarkable that they were able to accomplish

that. Furthermore, Rohl has demonstrated his tactical acumen, and his coaching background at Germany and

Bayern Munich indicates that he is well-liked in the sport.

However, given the necessity for promotion, there is a compelling case to be made that Wilder is currently a superior

match for Leicester.

Promotion will be expected for whoever takes over at King Power Stadium, even if they lose a significant number of

points. You can’t ignore someone who has been there and done it before; the owner’s sole goal is to get the team back

into the Premier League.

Even though Rohl is obviously brilliant and Sheffield Wednesday is a very large club, Leicester has different

expectations because of their riches.

The Championship is a grind, and it is important to recognise Wilder’s ability to assemble squads who consistently

produce success. Even though it’s not always pretty, he succeeds.

Leicester will also understand how crucial it is to get promoted as quickly as possible. Even though Leicester won’t be

spending a lot this summer, they will still pay their players well. This is because clubs that come down have an edge
