Sheffield Wednesday’s current crisis could get worse if one Owls player leaves. The cryptic message he has posted on social media could suggest that his future is in doubt.
Sheffield Wednesday’s terrible summer has continued, with owner Dejphon Chansiri still unable to pay players and staff.
To make matters worse, Danny Rohl has yet to return to Sheffield Wednesday while he pursues an escape from S6.
Some players have not been paid for two months in a row, providing them with the option of giving a 15-day notice.
Sheffield Wednesday have not revealed which players have received their salary, but one Owls star may have hinted about his future with the club.
Sheffield Wednesday fans may be concerned as Bailey Cadamarteri posts cryptic Owls photo on social media
This summer, Sheffield Wednesday’s coaches may place an emphasis on maintaining the younger levels in the squad as they try to develop a side for the 2025/26 Championship season.
Unfortunately, one player who may be on his way out is Bailey Cadamarteri, who shared a black-and-white snapshot on Instagram picturing himself playing for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2023/24 season.
While it is only speculation that this is a hint of Cadamarteri’s future at Sheffield Wednesday, it would make sense for the young forward to not be prioritised in terms of pay.
What Danny Rohl promised Bailey Cadamarteri last season
With pre-season camp at St George’s Park nearing, Sheffield Wednesday’s management dilemma should be resolved, but this is not the case.
Danny Rohl will not return for it, therefore one of the promises he made to Bailey Cadamarteri is now uncertain.
Cadamarteri was loaned out by Sheffield Wednesday following his breakthrough 2023/24 season, and despite a difficult stint at Lincoln City due to injuries, he was confident of reclaiming his striker spot in the coming season.
Per The Star, Rohl stated last season: “This is football, it’s important that the players are fit for when preseason starts, and then they have a new chance to show where they are.”
Unfortunately, because of Rohl’s voluntary exile and the current situation at the club, this chance may have been snatched away from Cadamarteri, who has potentially been sold a false idea ahead of the new season.
