Luton Town agrees deal to sign 20-year old star amid Reece Burke summer exit

After finishing 11th and 17 points outside of the play-off spots, Lincoln City will play in League One again. With Sean Roughan joining Huddersfield Town and former captain Paudie O’Connor joining Reading, it is expected that they will now try to bolster their defence.

The Imps have made defensive reinforcements a top priority throughout the summer transfer window. Sonny Bradley, a centre-back who has won multiple promotions, arrives after leaving Derby County following a fruitful loan stint with Wycombe Wanderers.

There are now seven contracted defenders at the club after 18-year-old Charlie Parks signed his first professional contract at LNER Stadium. According to the Daily Mirror, Lincoln City is in the lead to acquire Portsmouth defender Ryley Towler, thus more reinforcements are expected to be added there as well.

He was a priority target for the Imps and is now expected to sign, but Luton Town, Huddersfield Town, and Blackpool were also interested. Additional information on Towler The 23-year-old Towler, who had previously played for Bristol City, joins Portsmouth in 2023. He can play centre back, full back, or even midfield because he is 6’1″.

Towler’s age and little experience—he has made 79 first-team appearances—will give Lincoln City supporters hope. He appeared in 38 League One and Championship games for Portsmouth overall.
