Middlesbrough chiefs are currently in the Netherlands to meet Birmingham City target Sontje Hansen, as they make moves to sign the Dutch winger.
Blues are already making significant progress in the transfer window as they seek to secure back-to-back promotions. They have been pursuing forwards to assist Chris Davies have a successful Championship season, and they have signed Kyogo Furuhashi.
Birmingham is still looking for other players, including Sontjen of NEC Nijmegen. However, it appears that the Blues will miss out on the Netherlands Under-21 star, as a fellow Championship side is vying for him.

According to Italian journalist Lorenzo Lepore, Middlesbrough is making rapid progress in signing an Eredivisie forward.
The deal is currently moving forward well, as he is Middlesbrough’s top target this summer.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick was fired, with Boro aiming to move up, and the club’s administration hopes that Rob Edwards will lead them to the Premier League.

Hansen came up through Ajax’s development system and has yet to play abroad of the Netherlands. In the most recent season, the Dutch Under-21 winger appeared in 34 games and scored seven goals and four assists. Middlesbrough’s pre-season begins against Mansfield Town on July 19th, and Edwards hopes to have Hansen available before then.
