Club president flies to London to negotiate Tottenham deal after launching second bid
After making a fresh bid to acquire Alejo Veliz from Tottenham Hotspur, Rosario Central is now making a concerted effort to re-sign the striker.
According to reports last week, Rosario Central had surpassed Racing Club de Avellaneda in the competition for Veliz.
Rosario intended to sign the Tottenham Hotspur player on loan, but the North London team insisted on a permanent deal, according to the update.
It was revealed that the Argentine team was attempting to exploit Veliz’s wish to rejoin the team as a “trump card” in order to acquire him, and it now looks as though they had made a permanent offer.
Rosaria Central’s president is in London for Spurs talks
Rosario has already made a second bid for the 21-year-old, per a recent report in TyC Sports.
According to the outlet, they have made an undisclosed offer for 50% of the center-forward, meaning that if the Spurs accept the offer, they will keep a 50% sell-on clause on the player.
Additionally, Carolina Cristinziano, his wife and vice president, and Gonzalo Belloso, the president of Rosario, have gone to London to engage in direct negotiations with the Spurs hierarchy regarding Veliz.
Rosario Central optimistic about Alejo Veliz deal with Tottenham
TyC Sports claims that a “tax issue” is one possible roadblock to the sale, although the story doesn’t go into detail about what the issue is.
Nevertheless, Rosario Central is “excited” about the striker’s possible return and is hopeful that their talks with Tottenham will end well in spite of this obstacle.
Veliz is sure that if he does go back to his own country, it will only be to play for Rosario, the publication continues.
