Plymouth Argyle’s new intake of eight first-year apprentices have all progressed through the club’s youth system and played for Jamie Lowry’s under-18s side last season.

Foulston Park, Argyle’s first permanent home for their academy, is starting take shape as part of a £21 million redevelopment of the Brickfields site in Devonport and is set to open in late summer next year. The Pilgrims are coming off a 2024/25 season when their under-18s reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, taking the scalp of Everton along the way, before losing 3-0 to eventual winning finalists Aston Villa.
So it is an exciting time at the academy, which will be charged with the task of using the new facilities at Foulston Park to produce a regular pipeline of talent into the first team.
Here is how Argyle have introduced their new first-year apprentices, who include the son of a former Argyle goalkeeper.
Seb Campbell
Seb was a key part of the under-18s squad last year, which found success in both the Youth Alliance League South and the FA Youth Cup, reaching the quarter-finals. The midfielder’s energy and versatility were on show, scoring goals and providing assists in many competitions at under-16s and under-18s levels. He is a former student of Coombeshead Academy in Newton Abbot, who also played for Saints Southwest.
Billy Devlin
Billy, a former Eggbuckland Community College student, joined Argyle’s academy set-up at under-15s level, following a youth career in the Devon Junior and Minor League with Marine Academy Plymouth. The determined midfielder, like many of his first-year peers, featured heavily for the under-18s side last season, most notably making an appearance at Villa Park in the FA Youth Cup against Aston Villa.
