Plans formally submitted to expand Leeds United’s Elland Road Stadium.

Leeds United has submitted a formal planning proposal to extend its Elland Road stadium.
Leeds City Council has already given preliminary approval to proposals to modernise the stadium and boost its capacity from 37,645 to around 53,000. After a public survey, the club has presented its final ideas.
Chief Business Officer Morrie Eisenberg stated, “As a club, we believe this development will provide significant economic benefits to the local community and will serve as a catalyst for the area’s regeneration.”

The West and North Stands would be updated, as well as the South Stand, with enhancements to general admission and hospitality amenities.
United said it will help the club satisfy ticket demand, with 26,000 fans now on the waiting list for a season ticket.
According to the results of the consultation questionnaire, 98% of respondents agreed with the club’s ideas.
