Will Goodwin, a forward, has joined Chelsea United on loan from Oxford United of the Championship.
The 23-year-old joined the North Essex club before of the 2025–2026 season, making him the U’s fourth summer acquisition.
Before leaving Chester City to join Stoke City in February 2021, Goodwin began his career there.
Before leaving Stoke to sign a permanent contract with Cheltenham Town for an unknown price in January 2023, he had loan stints with Hartlepool United and Torquay United, where he scored six goals in 24 league games.
Before Oxford United noticed him during the 2024 January transfer window, Goodwin made 28 League One appearances for the Robins.
After Oxford was promoted to the Championship last January, there was another loan transfer, this time to League One’s Wigan Athletic.
During his tenure with the Latics, he made eight league and cup appearances. He is now hoping to make an impression in Colchester.
