Striker Mileta Rajovic set to leave Watford for €3m

Striker Mileta Rajovic set to leave Watford for €3m.

Watford are preparing to quadruple their money on striker Mileta Rajovic by selling him to Legia Warsaw for €3 million.

The Danish attacker, who arrived for half that amount in 2023, is on the verge of joining the Polish top-tier club, with the striking department at Vicarage Road filling up.

Rajovic was present when his teammates defeated Boreham Wood 2-0 in their first pre-season friendly of the summer on Tuesday, but did not play and is now on the verge of departing.

The large transfer fee signals a significant trading success for the club, as they make a good profit on a player who was unlikely to figure in Paulo Pezzolano’s plans this season. Rajovic was signed from Swedish club Kalmar FF and scored 11 goals in his first season at Vicarage Road.
He then bagged the winner on the opening day of the 2024/25 season in a 3-2 win at Millwall before scoring a brace in the 2-0 EFL Cup second round win against Plymouth, his final goals for the club. The 25-year-old was loaned out to Brondby for the remainder of last season, where he netted eight goals in 28 games.

With Vivaldo Semedo, Mamdou Doumbia, and a new centre-forward ready to compete for the Hornets’ starting spot this season, Rajovic’s future was always likely to be away from WD18.
