‘Fantastic’ talent joins West Ham as former club say transfer is ‘thoroughly deserved.’
According to Kenny Brown, West Ham United, one of the biggest teams in the Premier League, doesn’t frequently
make this kind of acquisition.
However, this “high-energy midfielder” was so impressive that they took advantage of the chance to bring Connor
Brooks about 30 miles from his Canvey Island home, both during a trial with the Hammers and when competing
against football players who were occasionally twice his age at the senior level.
Since the beginning of July, Brooks has joined West Ham United as the newest youthful talent. also a unique
addition from non-league football.
The 17-year-old was greeted warmly at Chadwell Heath on Wednesday by the club’s Academy Manager, Kenny
Brown.
About 48 hours ago, Joel Kerr, another new player, signed a full-time scholarship contract with West Ham. Brooks
now writes his own words while saying goodbye to his former employers, the Concord Rangers.
Concord Rangers praise ‘fantastic’ West Ham United newbie Connor Brooks
In August 2024, Brooks made his senior stage debut at the age of sixteen.
He played more than 20 games for a Concord Rangers team that placed 16th in the Isthmian League North Division
at the end of his breakthrough first-team football campaign.
The Essex-based team was never going to pass up this opportunity, just like they did with Kerr and Callum Leacock,
the Northern Irish pair who crossed the ocean to join West Ham from Glentoran and Linfield, respectively.
On their official X account, Concord Rangers wished Brooks the best as he embarks upon a transfer which takes him
six steps up the footballing pyramid.
“Competitive defensive or box-to-box midfielder [who] can break up play, find passes, and score a few goals,” is how
Brooks characterises himself. The adolescent is well known for his versatility—he can play anywhere in the middle of
the park—as well as the self-assurance and tenacity that set him apart from many more seasoned football players.
“It’s unbelievable. “I feel amazing,” Brooks says on the club’s official website. The opportunity to visit a team like
West Ham United is something you’ve always dreamed of. I couldn’t have asked for more.
“West Ham’s young players have an obvious path. Additionally, it offers you a genuine character and something to
strive towards when you see that route.
“I think that was a major factor in my decision to continue developing with West Ham United, along with the chance
to work with the coaches who genuinely want to help me grow as a player.”
Big seasons ahead for Hammers starlets Ollie Scarles, Lewis Orford and Kaelan Casey

for themselves in Graham Potter’s starting lineup for the upcoming campaign. Meanwhile, at just 19, left-back Ollie
Scarles passed Emerson Palmieri to win the Hammers’ Young Player of the Year award.
The previously mentioned Kenny Brown continues, “We are thrilled to have signed Connor, whom we have watched
many times.” He is a dynamic midfield midfielder who can score goals, tackle, and manipulate the ball.
“He complements the group’s existing members and possesses all the qualities needed to succeed with us.”
