Reading FC director reveals long-standing Royal interest

Ross Kestin, the new director of Reading, has stated that he and his investment company, Aliya Capital, have had

their sights set on the team for “many, many years.”

Kestin, who is located in Miami, has joined Rob Couhig, Todd Trosclair, and Alec Lundberg on the board of directors

and is a minority shareholder of the parent corporation that owns the football team.

His company, which has a portfolio that includes Uber and AirBnB, is a frequent supporter of American

businessman Elon Musk.

He expressed interest more than a month ago, and this week, following EFL approval, he confirmed it.

Kestin said that his firm had been considering several Championship teams, but Reading was always of interest to

them when they sat down to talk about his plans.

“We have been looking at Championship clubs as an investment for the past year or so and we’ve had our eyes open

for a few years,” he told the club. “We have been aware of Reading for many, many years and we’ve always been keen

on investing in the club.

Because of all the legal troubles and hardships the club has had, we truly believed it wouldn’t be feasible. It became

evident to us during our meeting with Rob that he was the one who could unravel the complex web of issues that

allowed us to complete the purchase.

Kestin thought it was the right transaction after months of conversations with the chairman and co-CEO, Couhig.

After months of meetings with Couhig, the chairman and co-CEO, Kestin knew it was the deal to do.

“Rob is a remarkable person. He is more energetic than I am, yet I believe he is 76 years old. We’ve been talking to

Rob about Reading for a while, and when we met in the US, we planned our investment and our plan to succeed

here. We are here to help Rob as much as we can because we are really close to him.”

Regarding the agreement, Couhig stated, “We are happy and thrilled to have Aliya Capital Partners join us on this

adventure. We can accomplish our objectives with Reading with the help of Ross and his squad, who have a genuine

grasp of international football. The prospects that lie ahead should excite fans.
