Departing Watford striker is set to break a transfer record, his medical is next week

Departing Watford striker is set to break a transfer record, his medical is next week.

Watford have been busy in the transfer window this summer, looking to move up the Championship table in 2025/26.

After Tom Cleverley’s shocking dismissal at the end of last season, Paulo Pezzolano must now find a way to steady the ship at Vicarage Road, and he will aim to bolster his club all the way until the transfer market closes at 7 p.m. on September 1.

The Hornets have earned a seven-figure sum following Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion, and they have already signed Vivaldo Semedo from Udinese up front.

However, with a new striker entering, one departs, and Mileta Rajovic’s departure to Poland has been updated.

Mileta Rajovic is set to leave Watford for €3m

The 25-year-old spent the most of last season on loan in his native Denmark with Brondby, where he scored five goals in 15 games.

However, there appears to be no place for him back at Watford, and he is reportedly likely to join Legia Warsaw for a cost of €3 million (£2.59 million), according to Tomasz Wodarczyk. If all goes as planned, Rajovic’s contract will be a record in Poland’s premier division, Ekstraklasa, with the forward’s physical scheduled to be completed next week when he flies to the nation.

The player has agreed to a four-year contract with Warsaw and will leave Watford after just 48 appearances and 14 goals.

Mileta Rajovic could have been a star at Vicarage Road

After a successful first season with the Hornets, the Danish star may have expected to play a key role in the Championship in 2024/25. However, the decision was made to send him out on loan, possibly due to the club’s lack of depth in the attacking positions.

However, now that Semedo has arrived in Hertfordshire, Rajovic’s game time may reduce. Nonetheless, many may believe that the striker should have been given more opportunities at Watford, but the club will benefit financially from the sale.
