Ex-Blackpool goalkeeper Stuart Moore is on trial with Portsmouth.
Portsmouth are considering a move for former Blackpool goalkeeper Stuart Moore.
The 30-year-old is now without a club after leaving Morecambe earlier this summer following the Shrimps’ relegation from League Two.
Moore has spent the last week on trial with Pompey on their foreign training camp in Slovakia, after receiving a late request to assist.
Despite having three keepers on their roster and one on loan, Hampshire would explore making another acquisition in that position.
Portsmouth goalie coach Joe Prodomo told The News: “We would be open to adding another goalkeeper to the group, but it would have to be the right fit.” We’d also have to carefully consider where everyone who is already in the building falls in the pecking order.
“In terms of Stuart himself, he has been a breath of fresh air around the place, a really good guy who has trained to a really good level.”
“A tribute to his character, we probably had our first phone call at 7 p.m. on Friday night. I believe I interrupted his shopping trip at Tesco. We are really grateful to him for joining us and for his contributions both on and off the training pitch.
“Stuart has done himself absolutely no harm. He has been a pleasure to deal with on a daily basis and has been exceptionally well-trained. If we need to recruit in the future, his name will be on the list.
“The initial talk was only regarding our trip to Slovakia. Over the following few days, we will discuss any recruitment needs that may arise for us.
“Stuart has been quite helpful to us this week, and I hope we have been equally helpful to him. “We’ll see what the future brings.”
Moore’s career so far

Moore spent time in Portsmouth’s youth system before joining Reading, where he was loaned out on multiple occasions to receive his first taste of senior football.
After leaving the Select Car Leasing Stadium permanently in 2017, the 30-year-old spent time with Barrow, Swindon Town, MK Dons, and Wealdstone before moving to Bloomfield Road.
During his stint with the Seasiders, he was primarily a backup option, appearing in only two games between 2021 and 2023.
He was an understudy on the last Blackpool club to earn promotion from League One, and he was on the bench for the 2-1 win over Lincoln City in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Towards the end of his contract on the Fylde Coast, he was loaned out to Doncaster Rovers, before joining Morecambe – whom he featured 30 times in total for
