Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White set for Tottenham medical.

Morgan Gibbs-White, a Nottingham Forest midfielder, is expected to have a medical at Tottenham Hotspur.
Gibbs-White has been on several prominent teams’ recruitment lists, but Spurs are set to strengthen new head coach Thomas Frank’s squad ahead of the new season with the 25-year-old, who has a £60 million release clause in his contract at the City Ground.
Gibbs-White joined Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2022 and has since established himself as one of the Premier League’s most impressive players, as well as receiving international attention for England.
Frank, the recently hired Spurs manager, has long admired Gibbs-White, and moving to north London would provide him with the opportunity to play in the Champions League.
Manchester City considered Gibbs-White during the transfer window, but they finally chose to sign Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders instead.
Gibbs-White signed a deal with Wolves until June 2027 for a cost of up to £42.5 million (now $57.6 million) plus bonuses.
The Englishman shone for Forest in 2024-25, scoring seven goals and assisting ten times as Nuno Espirito Santo’s team placed seventh in the Premier League and qualified for the Conference League the following season.
He has 18 goals and 28 assists in 118 games over his three years at Forest, where he has led the club on occasion.
Tottenham have already agreed to pay £55 million for West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus and have completed the acquisition of Japan international defender Kota Takai.
Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have also signed permanent contracts following loan spells last season. They advanced to the Champions League by defeating Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final.
Worrying news for Forest fans
Danny Taylor, a professional writer, conducted an analysis There is no doubting that if you support Nottingham Forest, this is really worrisome news.
Following the announcement that Anthony Elanga will join Newcastle United for £52 million, most Forest fans might have assumed that any more talk about the likelihood of losing another of their important players would be over.
That is not the case, and the idea of losing Gibbs-White will be difficult to bear considering his growth as a high-quality Premier League player, earning England prominence in the process.

An exciting move for Spurs – but would it be the right one?
Analysis by Tottenham correspondent Jay Harris
Ange Postecoglou must be envious of Tottenham’s summer transfer window actions. Last year, the only player they signed who immediately strengthened the starting lineup was Dominic Solanke, who cost them a club record £65 million.
They spent the remainder of their money on brilliant kids Archie Grey, Lucas Bergvall, and Wilson Odobert, but this left their squad lacking in other areas. It appears that they have a completely different mindset in this window under Frank.
They should finalise the acquisition of Ghana international Kudus before the end of the week, and signing Gibbs-White would only add to their fanbase’s optimism over Frank’s future.
Before Gibbs-White joined Forest, Frank was interested in recruiting him for Brentford. Last season, Frank primarily utilised a 4-2-3-1 formation at Brentford, and Mikkel Damsgaard thrived as the No. 10, recording 10 assists to help the club finish joint-fourth in the league.
Gibbs-White may play a similar role for Tottenham or sit deeper beside a defensive midfielder.
