Charlton Athletic are interested in signing Blackpool midfielder Rob Apter, according to Football Insider sources.
Apter had a fantastic season with Blackpool last year, scoring eight goals and assisting eight times in 50 games across all competitions.
Nathan Jones has named Apter as a key target as he attempts to bolster their offensive options ahead of their return to the Championship, but Blackpool manager Steve Bruce wants to keep the Scotland Under-21 international at Bloomfield Road.

Charlton targets Apter’s addition
Liverpool-born Apter joins Blackpool in 2019 after previously playing in Tranmere Rovers’ development system.
A year later, in November 2020, he signed a professional deal with the Tangerines and made his senior debut for the team in the EFL Trophy.
Apter went on a number of loans while rising through the ranks at Bloomfield Road, the most significant being his return to former club Tranmere in 2023/24, where he scored 13 goals and assisted six times in 40 appearances and was voted League Two’s Young Player of the Season.
The dynamic forward returned to Bruce’s third-tier club last summer and impressed throughout 2024/25, including a spectacular performance against Stevenage in April when he scored a 12-minute second-half hat-trick.

Apter’s Blackpool career stats
At only 22 years old, his impressive performances and potential for further improvement have piqued the eye of newly promoted Championship side Charlton, but Blackpool are not about to let him go without a fight this summer.
Charlton is one of the second-tier clubs interested in the former Galatasaray player
Jones is definitely trying to strengthen his team with quality this summer as the Addicks return to the second flight following a five-year absence.
According to Football Insider, Charlton have made an approach to sign defender Mathias Ross, while Preston North End and Millwall are also keen.
The Dane is a free agent after mutually cancelling his contract with Galatasaray a year early, following two seasons on loan at NEC Nijmegen and Sparta Prague.
Ross, 24, started just six league games for Sparta last season while on loan, but as a former Denmark Under-21 international, he is regarded as a viable and high-quality option by all three Championship clubs bidding for his signature this summer.
