Schofield Sweeney Guides Accu Through Historic Naming Rights Agreement
Accu, an engineering components firm located in Huddersfield, has concluded a historic five-year sponsorship deal
with Huddersfield Town, which marks a major turning point for the company and the football team.
Accu received legal advice from renowned commercial law firm Schofield Sweeney during the deal. The corporation
obtained exclusive naming rights to the team’s home field as part of the agreement, and it will now formally be
known as the Accu Stadium.
Over the course of five football seasons, the historic sponsorship agreement, the biggest of its type for the team, is
expected to last until at least 2030.
Accu and Huddersfield Town will work together to support local communities through education-based STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) outreach, community development programs, and improved match day
and supporter engagement activities, in addition to the naming rights.
“We have represented and worked with Accu for a number of years, and when this opportunity presented itself, we
actively encouraged them to explore it further and subsequently advised to help get the deal over the line,” stated
Karen Crutchley, Partner at Schofield Sweeney. It will be an excellent platform for the company to keep increasing its
visibility.
“We’re immensely proud to align our brand with this iconic stadium and with Huddersfield Town – a club that
shares our passion for innovation, local pride, and community engagement,” stated Alastair Morris, managing
director of Accu. More than just a stadium, the Accu Stadium will serve as a hub for Huddersfield’s development and
a representation of common aspirations.
Established in 2012, Accu provides parts to over 50% of the top 100 manufacturers worldwide across more than 120
nations.
