McBurnie to Hull now ‘unlikely’, Hull City have reportedly widened the net in their striker search, with a move for Oli McBurnie now considered unlikely.

That’s according to our colleagues at Hull Live, who state that while interest in the Scot hasn’t completely ended, their position appears to have now changed. The prospect of him making the move to the MKM Stadium now appears slim.

The Tigers have been working on a move for the former Sheffield United man for most of the summer, with McBurnie now a free agent after leaving Las Palmas at the end of June.

There had previously been some optimism he would make the move to Humberside, with the player himself believed to be keen.

But Hull’s recent financial struggles have clearly changed the landscape, with the club placed under a three-window transfer fee restriction. All potential incomings are now on hold, although they are technically still able to sign McBurnie given he’s unattached.
