When Danny Rohl’s Sheffield Wednesday future could be decided as crunch talks planned.

There hasn’t been a routine day at Sheffield Wednesday this summer, and it appears that the next few days may bring even more unexpected surprises.
Amidst all of the commotion surrounding Dejphon Chansiri’s botched payments to staff and HMRC, it’s easy to forget that there’s also a Danny Rohl saga to deal with. Sheffield Wednesday appear to be on the verge of finding new owners, with another name emerging as a plausible possibility to succeed Chansiri.
However, as the situation involving Rohl becomes more complicated, the club may soon be seeking for a new manager.

Danny Rohl to meet with Sheffield Wednesday players
When it was revealed last week that Rohl was ready to return to S6 and continue working for Wednesday, despite having tried to find another job all summer, Owls fans were confused and frustrated.
That disillusionment appears to have spread to the players, with several Sheffield Wednesday players upset with Rohl’s behaviour this summer. We understand that the players have even informed the board that they no longer want the German to be in charge. Clearly, the situation will need to be resolved in some way.
According to Sky Sports, Rohl and his players will meet on Monday (July 14th) to clear the air and determine how to move forward.
Rohl has been noticeably absent from preseason training thus far, but will return to Hillsborough on Monday. The squad has been working at St.
George’s Park for the past week, but they will also return to their Middlewood Road headquarters now that the renovations are complete. Rohl is expected to “speak candidly” to his players, but he will not be given a “easy ride”. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to win over the players and get everything back on track for the new season.
Should Sheffield Wednesday stick with Danny Rohl?
Former Owls star Jon Newsome understands the frustration around Rohl’s comeback, but insists it should be seen positively.
Reporter Alan Biggs also commended Rohl for how he handled Chansiri this summer, implying that the coach put pressure on the chairman to resolve the situation behind the scenes. While the players may be dissatisfied with Rohl, which is understandable, the truth remains that they have a very excellent manager and must let bygones be bygones.
Sacking Rohl now would not only cost Wednesday a significant amount of money that they do not have, but it would also force them to look for a new manager; how many coaches would consider that role and want to get involved in such a nasty situation? Not many, that’s for sure.
