Reo Hatate: Celtic midfielder to miss Scottish Cup final and trophy day clash against St Mirren following knee injury

Reo Hatate, a Celtic player, sustained a knee injury during their victory at Pittodrie on Wednesday, keeping him out of the Scottish

Cup final.

This season, the midfielder has been virtually constant for the Hoops, participating in 55 games in all competitions and contributing 11

goals to a winning campaign.

Now, he will miss Saturday’s match against St Mirren, where Celtic will win the Premiership trophy, and—more importantly—the

Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen the following week.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to rejoin the team this weekend, according to Brendan Rodgers, who also thinks Hatate will be

healthy enough for preseason training.

“Reo will miss the last two games, sadly for him and for us,” the Celtics manager stated in a statement on Friday. It’s unfortunate that

he will miss the final few games because he has had a tremendous season in terms of availability and has played in 55 games for us.

It’s unfortunate for us and even more for him that he will miss these next two games, but he should be OK for the start of preseason.

“I said at the time that I thought it was a needless challenge, everyone knew it was a free-kick, and he was just there to stop the ball running away.

“So for that to happen, in those circumstances, it’s not nice.

“Cam is back in, Ali (Johnston) was obviously in the squad midweek, so he is fine.”
