Don Goodman’s Nathan Jones decision has Southampton supporters worried, but it’s not as harsh as it looks.

Even though Southampton has played more than a hundred games after Nathan Jones was sent off, the supporters can at least thank

him for giving them a boost in momentum they have never had before. Transfermarkt claims that he visited the Saints dugout shortly

before the year 2023 began, but he didn’t spend any time in converting the defeating screams into enthusiastic applause at St. Mary’s

before the fourth week of January.

It appears that all Saints supporters, including the current owners, were won over by his coaching abilities but wished they could have

prevented him from having his way in every trade. Because Jones noticed Kamaldeen Sulemana’s playmaking pedigree, which the

spectators were unable to fully appreciate.

Thankfully, Ivan Juric was another supporter of the Ghanaian’s skill, allowing Southampton supporters to move on from Jones’ winter

gaffe. The Welshman’s former admirers would thus wish him well in his current and next endeavours, as his reputation has been

slowly increasing among them.

Jones must aim to gather consistent points from the get go

Even then, second division’s veteran attacker Don Goodman isn’t opting to hide the bitter Championship reality away from Jones and

his Charlton Athletic unit.

bridged – but it will be a tough season,” Goodman told Jones, warning Jones against taking it easy and pointing out the efforts made by

teams of their calibre.

The same remarks might apply to Phil Parkinson, who, like Jones, jumped divisions to win the championship. Saints will be

optimistic, but let’s wait for the games to see if they can continue to be league competitors for another year without dropping in the

English football hierarchy.
