Everton close to making two signings including Championship teenager tipped to go ‘right to the top’

Several months ago, David Moyes publicly acknowledged that a significant makeover of Everton’s roster was imminent.

This month, a number of first-team players left after their contracts expired, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

According to reports, a loan with a buyout option is being prepared for Douglas Luiz, who Moyes has been considering as a possible Doucoure replacement.

Everton is also considering Mihailo Ivanovic following his stellar 13-goal season with Millwall of the Championship.

It has now come to light that two young signings are being pursued by Everton.

Everton close to signing John Dodds and Reuben Gokah

Earlier this year, a source connected to Everton called the club’s academy a “disgrace,” with only 40 scouts working at the grassroots level.

Three hundred scouts were sent out throughout the nation to find some of the best players during Moyes’ first stint at the club.

Nick Cox, the manager of Manchester United, has joined the Toffees, and the Friedkin Group has made large investments to upgrade the academy.

Cox’s arrival is regarded as a true coup, and he is already exerting influence on Merseyside, where two gifted kids are on the verge of joining Finch Farm.

The Athletic claims that Everton is near signing Charlton Athletic’s Reuben Gokah and Hearts’ John Dodds.

It is anticipated that the 16-year-olds would initially play in the under-18 division.
