Yakou Meite teases fans over possible Reading FC return with latest social media post.
With numerous fans hinting at the Ivorian’s possible return to Reading, supporters have been conjecturing on Yakou Meite’s future over the summer. Following Cardiff City’s relegation from the Championship to League One, Meite was released this summer and is now a free agent. Ahead of the 2025–2026 campaign, Meite shared a photo of himself on Instagram with the comment, “In the tank,” while sporting a Reading training shirt.
Although he has not yet signed a contract, he has been connected to a return to Berkshire in a number of stories. At the conclusion of Reading’s final home game of the 2024–25 season, Meite was seen on the field welcoming his former teammates, staff, and their families. He remains a highly regarded figure among players, staff, and supporters.
