Danny Ings left West Ham as a free agent this summer and is looking for fresh opportunities.
Danny Ings, a former West Ham striker, is in negotiations with Championship club Middlesbrough about joining on a free transfer this summer.
This summer, the 32-year-old left the London Stadium after two years there. In 69 appearances for West Ham, Ings scored five goals and provided five assists.
Under Graham Potter, the striker had become a periphery player, despite the injury to £27 million man Niclas Fullkrug and club stalwart Michail Antonio. He appeared in 17 games last season, playing only 405 minutes and scoring one against Fulham in September under Julen Lopetegui.
The former Burnley and Liverpool bagman is ready to return to the Championship for the first time since 2014, when he played for the Clarets. Ings began his professional career in League Two with AFC Bournemouth before being promoted to League One and then transferring to the second division when he joined Burnley.

He guided the Clarets to the Premier League and went on to establish himself as a top-flight striker with stops at Liverpool, Southampton, and Aston Villa. Ings scored 72 Premier League goals in 240 appearances.
Middlesbrough are presently coached by former Luton Town manager Rob Edwards, who replaced Michael Carrick earlier this summer. Ings might be the first Boro signing under Edwards ahead of the new Championship season.
On August 9, the club takes on Swansea at the Riverside Stadium. Journalist Luke Edwards reported on social media site X that Danny Ings was on the verge of signing for Middlesbrough. Would be an excellent signing for a Championship club.
Danny Ings gives Hammers’ goodbye message
When his departure from West Ham was revealed, Ings posted a simple note on Instagram. He stated, “It’s not easy leaving a football club when you have so many close relationships; I just want to thank the fans and everyone at West Ham.” I wish you all the best in the future.

Ings had been extensively linked with a move to recently promoted Championship club Wrexham, but the Welsh club appears to have lost out. Potter stated of Ings, Vladimir Coufal, and Lukasz Fabianski, ahead of their departures: “As the Club’s statement said, they’ve all made an amazing contribution and been part of a really successful period for the Club.”
“They’ve conducted themselves impeccably throughout my stay here. I can only recommend them highly. They’ve been excellent professionals both on and off the pitch. They’re all incredibly kind people who have had a great career, and we obviously wish them the best of luck in the next part of their careers.”
