Former Huddersfield Town star Josh Koroma has seen his move to Barnsley collapse after an ‘attempt to change the deal’.
Koroma is a free agent this summer, looking for a new club to continue his career after his contract at Huddersfield expired.
He appeared to be set to transfer to Barnsley after agreeing to terms, completing a medical, and even performing media duties for the Oakwell club.
Koroma’s side attempted to modify the deal, which Barnsley did not agree to, and the move is now off.
Journalist Adam Oxley posted on X: “For those wondering, I was told the attempt to modify the deal was from the player’s end.

“My understanding is that Barnsley were happy with the terms agreed, which is why the medical and media interviews took place.”
It is unclear what alteration the former Huddersfield man was looking for, but it was clearly not one that Barnsley were willing to accept.
| Club | No. of wins |

| Brighton & Hove Albion | 2 times |
| Luton Town | 2 times |
| Plymouth Argyle | 2 times |
Koroma was on Huddersfield’s roster from 2019 till this summer and played regularly for the Terriers last season.
Last season, he played 37 League One games for Huddersfield, scoring eleven goals and assisting twice.

Koroma has made over 100 Championship appearances and has previously played for Portsmouth, Rotherham United, and Leyton Orient.
Last season, the attacker appeared in one encounter with Barnsley and made an impression, contributing an assist in Huddersfield’s 2-1 victory.
Koroma came via Leyton Orient’s junior system, and it remains to be seen which clubs will want to sign him as a free agent.
Given his free agency status, Koroma has no reason to expedite his choice, since he can move once the transfer window closes in early September.
