Bradley Dack reveals the “disrespectful” Blackburn Rovers moment; it was “horrible.”
Bradley Dack has spoken out about his harsh Blackburn Rovers career ending.
The 31-year-old first joined the Lancashire team in 2017, and during his debut season at Ewood Park, he played a significant role in
getting the team back in the Championship and promoted from League One.
He only made 64 league appearances in his final four seasons at Blackburn, though, as injuries cut short his tenure there.
On the last day of the 2022–2023 season, Sunderland’s 3-0 victory against Preston North End nearly prevented the team from
finishing in the top six. His final appearance was as a substitute in the 90th minute of a 4–3 victory over Millwall.

Bradley Dack’s disrespectful Blackburn ending

criticised Blackburn for how they handled his departure.
Being granted only 30 seconds to play for the team one final time didn’t sit well with him because he claimed to love the club.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Dack stated, “I think my last game was really disrespectful, if I’m being completely honest.”
“The game was over because everyone knew Sunderland was winning 3-0 at Preston.
“I was rather disappointed to be ordered to come on for 30 seconds at the end.
“The conclusion wasn’t pleasant.
“I really connected with that club; I adore it, the supporters, and the community.”
“It was a terrible conclusion.”
Dack rejoined his old boss at Ewood Park, Tony Mowbray, when he moved to Sunderland that summer. However, he joined
Gillingham in 2024 and currently plays for League Two.
Dack’s departure from Blackburn showed how far he’d fallen
Dack used to be a vital member of Blackburn, and his first two seasons there were particularly noteworthy in both League One and the
Championship.
In that first season back in the second level, he added 15 goals and seven assists to his 18 goals on his way to promotion from the third
division.
It’s difficult to conceive what would have happened for the player and the team if he had been able to stay regularly fit, but injuries
severely held him back, which damaged Blackburn.
This resulted in a lacklustre final season with the squad, and as a result, then manager Jon Dahl Tomasson gave him a slap in the face.
