Huddersfield Town’s high-profile recruit has already bought into club plan

Lynden Gooch has embraced the new idea and wants to assist the newly formed Huddersfield Town in turning their fortunes around.

After leaving Stoke City at the end of the previous season, the American inked a three-year deal with the Terriers.

With Huddersfield, he hopes to repeat his past experience of being promoted from League One with Sunderland. After struggling as a

team on the pitch in recent years, Town has a new head coach and a new plan for the team’s future that includes its newest addition,

Gooch.

Following their 2024 Championship relegation, they made an unsuccessful attempt to return to the second division the following

season; they intend to make amends this time.

Gooch wants to be a part of the club’s leadership and coaching staff because he senses a level of ambition in them that can propel the

squad forward once more.

“This has been going on for a number of weeks now,” the 29-year-old stated. It’s a great opportunity, and I’m happy to be here. I am

definitely looking forward to it because, in the end, we want to return to the Championship as soon as possible.

“I just want to resume playing regularly and enjoying football after a difficult couple of years at my previous club. In our conversation

a few weeks ago, the manager made it apparent that he wanted me to stay in the building and play a significant role in the club’s future

—not just now, but also in the long run. Being here is making me so excited.

“I believe that the owner and the leadership are putting a lot of effort into the Club. They have made it known that they wish to leave

the league. They have already brought in some excellent players, and I hope to build on it and demonstrate my qualities to everyone.

When Sunderland was in League One, Gooch was a consistent goal scorer. He intends to contribute speed and inventiveness to

Huddersfield’s defence.

He has defensive duties as a full-back as well, but more than anything else, he hopes that his application will win over the supporters

and help the team reach its goals.

“I can’t wait to travel to Austria and resume my training,” he continued. I am excited to get there and meet all the guys and staff

because, of course, pre-season is just a few weeks away.

“I really am all activity. I enjoy taking the initiative and attempting to create by throwing a lot of balls into the box. In addition to

playing right back, I also have to defend, so hopefully I will accomplish that. I enjoy immersing myself in the pitch and getting my

hands dirty. I will sacrifice everything for the shirt, no matter what.

A significant portion of the fan base, in my opinion, will wish to see the team move ahead, and I want to play a significant role in that.

We are aware that the upcoming season will be challenging. In my opinion, League One will have a more evenly distributed season this

year than it did the previous one.

“No matter what, we must remain united despite the highs and lows we may experience. We all want to succeed, and that’s the one

thing.
