Lynden Gooch, who has invested in the new project, wants to see Huddersfield Town return to a positive trajectory. The American signed a three-year contract with the Terriers after leaving Stoke City at the end of last season.
He has previously achieved promotion from League One with Sunderland and hopes to do so again with Huddersfield. Town has a new head coach and, with him, a new vision for the team’s future, which includes their most recent signing, Gooch, despite underperforming as a club on the pitch in recent seasons.

Relegation from the Championship in 2024 was followed by an unsuccessful bid to return to the second division the following season, something they intend to rectify this time around.
Gooch sees ambition in the club’s administration and coaching staff that can propel the squad ahead again, and he wants to be a part of it.
The 29-year-old stated: “This has been going on for a few weeks now. I’m happy to be here; this is a fantastic chance. Finally, we want to return to the Championship as soon as possible, so I’m looking forward to it.
“I’ve had a terrible couple of years at my last club, and all I want to do is get back to playing regularly and enjoying football. I spoke with the Manager a few weeks ago, and he made it clear that he wanted me in the building and to be a vital role for the club in the future, not just now, but also in the long run. I am really thrilled to be here.
“I believe you can see the owner and the hierarchy’s ambition for the club. They’ve made it known that they want out of the league. They’ve already brought in some extremely good players, and I’m hoping I can contribute to that and show everyone what I’m about.”
Gooch was a frequent goal scorer for Sunderland when they were in League One, and he aims to do the same at Huddersfield, offering pace and inventiveness on the flank.
As a full-back, he also has defensive responsibilities, but it is his application that he thinks will warm the hearts of the supporters, and he hopes to assist the squad get where they want to go.
He continued, “I’m delighted to return to Austria and begin training again. Obviously, it’s a few weeks into pre-season, so I’m looking forward to going there and meeting all of the guys and staff.
“I’m all action, actually. I enjoy moving forward and putting a lot of balls in the box to attempt to create. Hopefully, I will do that, but as a number one right back, I must also defend. I enjoy getting dug in and getting involved on the pitch. I’m willing to offer anything for the shirt.
“I believe that a substantial portion of the fanbase will want to see progress, and I want to play a role in that. We realize it will be a tough season. I believe this year’s League One season will be more even than the previous year’s.
“We will experience both highs and lows, but we must remain united. We all desire to attain one thing: success.
