Former Colchester United man Jamie McDonnell joins Mansfield

PRIOR Jamie McDonnell, a loanee from Colchester United, has joined Mansfield Town of League One.

The 21-year-old midfielder is on loan from Nottingham Forest to the Stags for the duration of the season.

“I’m so happy to sign on loan for Mansfield and really looking forward to the season ahead,” McDonnell said on the Mansfield Town website.

“I’ve been training this morning, and it feels like a true family setting here, with the players and staff having a close bond. This seems like a club where I can truly grow and contribute.

“I’ve previously spoken to Kyle (McAdam) and Joe (Gardner) and they’ve said nothing but great things about the club.”

McDonnell was a revelation for Colchester in the 2024/25 campaign after joining them on a season-long loan from Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
