Mark Travers shares what he’s found ‘incredible’ since joining Everton, it’ll ‘give everyone a lift’
Thierno Barry, Carlos Alcaraz, and Mark Travers are the three new players Everton has brought to Merseyside this
summer.
Travers, who arrived at Everton on Tuesday to take over as Jordan Pickford’s backup, is the newest member of the
team.
The 26-year-old, a Republic of Ireland international, reportedly paid £4 million plus add-ons to join Everton from
Bournemouth.
In the 1-0 friendly defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, he made his debut for Everton and made an
exceptionally good save.
After the match, Travers talked about his initial thoughts on his new team and his opinion of the recently
constructed Everton Stadium.
Mark Travers hails ‘incredible’ Everton Stadium

in his new environment.
After praising the fan base and the club setup, he talked about the “incredible” new stadium, which is also called Hill
Dickinson Stadium.
“It’s incredibly thrilling,” Travers said to the Everton press. It’s a huge squad.
“Coming to Everton, it’s the fans, the fan base and the passion they show. It’s really exciting to be involved with that.
“I’m looking forward to giving everything I can and working as hard as I can for the fans and this club.
“It’s been great, obviously, coming and signing here, chatting to the manager and Dave (Lucas) as well, the goalie
coach, and really positive stuff from them.
I am thrilled to be an Everton football player and am looking forward to working hard and giving it my all because
they have showed a lot of faith in me.
Even though I’ve only been in the building for a week, I can already sense the positive vibes. I’ve seen the stadium;
it’s really amazing. That should just lift everyone’s spirits, in my opinion.
“There will be an amazing influx of fans for the upcoming season as well. Over the coming weeks, we’ll simply keep
putting in as much effort as we can in preparation for the season opening.
After his strong performance at Blackburn, Everton supporters can now see why some Bournemouth supporters had
earlier expressed a desire that Travers had stayed.
What Mark Travers thinks of Jordan Pickford
In addition to being a legend at Everton, Pickford is also regarded as an England great, standing alongside players
like Peter Shilton and Gordon Banks.
Travers, who recently told the Everton media team: “Jordan is an outstanding custodian for club and country,” will
be ready to push Pickford all the way.
“I’m excited to play in the Premier League and compete against everyone here. It is enormous to be in this setting.
“Every day in training, we will push each other, and on the weekends, we will support one another and take
advantage of every chance that presents itself.”
