Graham Smyth outlines triple Leeds United transfer boost, including positive update on Igor Paixao

Leeds now has optimism in the race thanks to a more upbeat update on the situation from Graham Smyth. “They have targets in Igor Paixao, Rodrigo Muniz, and Lucas Perri who would put the gloss on the summer recruitment piece,” he stated in an interview with The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“The players who finish the picture must contribute significant quality, whether it’s all three or none at all. Hard work remains to be done.
“However, Elland Road exudes a sense of quiet assurance that they’re off to a strong start on and off the pitch.”
Since then, we have discussed the connections to Marseille and whether a move to Leeds is no longer an option with Edson Toninello, Paixao’s agent. “Not yet,” he responded. There is no certainty. Nothing is predetermined.
The current transfer situation regarding Leeds’ goalkeeper targets
Several goalkeepers have already been linked to a move to Leeds this summer. On that position, it appears that significant progress is currently being made.
Behind the scenes, there have been disputes over custodian targets, but Lucas Perri of Lyon has emerged as the most likely candidate to succeed Illan Meslier.
According to reports from just this week, Perri is Leeds’ top summer custodian target and appears ready to leave Lyon.
The Brazilian custodian seems to still be Leeds’ top priority, even though Lyon managed to avoid relegation to Ligue 2. The advancements of Paixao are encouraging, but so are the ongoing connections to Perri.
