Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest overlooked Tottenham’s “terrific” £27 million star.
Forest added at least 30 new players in the first two transfer windows after joining the Premier League, many of whom had no effect. Forest is currently looking to add players to strengthen the team because they are much more astute in the transfer market these days. Anthony Elanga left Forest for Newcastle, and Morgan Gibbs-White’s future at City Ground is still up in the air.
An another former Reds player may be set to make their Premier League debut as Forest looks to add players to the team. Tottenham is reportedly interested in signing Bade this summer, while Sunderland, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth are also vying for his services, according to Foot Mercato.
Premier League clubs have expressed interest in a potential signing as a result of the player’s rumoured summer sale from Sevilla. Bade paid £10 million to join the La Liga team, and his present club is now trying to recover about £27 million to allow him to go this summer.
Despite having an abundance of defenders at the City Ground, Forest did not win a single game under the previous head coach until Steve Cooper did. After only six months at Trentside, he left for Sevilla, where he would win the Europa League a few months later. Cook, a huge admirer of the Frenchman, was among the players who kept Bade off the team throughout the first half of the 2022–2023 season.
Cooper, the Forest promotion winner, was not impressed by Bade when he was with the team, and he was only included in one matchday squad while he was on Trentside. Cook was impacted by the centre-back, and he gave the guy a lot of praise even though he didn’t play.
“Loic Bade was an amazing player, amazing, he didn’t get a chance for one reason or another,” he said on the Red Side of the Trent podcast. He came in quite hot, meaning he had strong opinions. Perhaps that didn’t match the manager’s desired storyline. However, he was, and I often see it on Twitter. He was a fantastic player with excellent technique.
Bade will be delighted to visit the Premier League this summer and attempt to demonstrate how foolish it was for Forest to pass on him during his disastrous tenure. It will be intriguing to watch which team ultimately prevails in the competition to sign him before the new Premier League season begins next month.
