Sheffield United manager Ruben Selles expects a number of “high-profile” players, notably Aston Villa forward Louie Barry, to join the club in the next week.
The Spaniard collaborated with Barry last season at Hull City, where the 22-year-old arrived on loan during the January transfer window after impressing with League One club Stockport.

“I expect to have a couple of players in the next two to five days,” Selles said on BBC Radio Sheffield after Saturday’s 5-0 pre-season triumph over Rotherham.

“Louie has been there; we know him very well.” We’ll see what happens.
“I don’t want quantity to fill a team; I want quality. The youngsters we’re training with will, in my opinion, be high-profile athletes.”
However, he will need to keep an eye on more than just new players. Midfielder Gus Hamer has been linked with a move to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, but Selles does not want the 28-year-old to leave Bramall Lane.
“I’d like to keep Gustavo with us. “I believe he has been fantastic for the club in terms of performances, style of play, quality, and league dominance,” he continued.
“We know the market is fluid and things can happen but our main target will be to keep him.”
