David Ornstein: Xhaka has agreed to join Sunderland

According to The Athletic’s Ornstein, Xhaka only wants to join Sunderland and has told Leverkusen to attempt to finalize the deal as quickly as possible. The 32-year-old has agreed to join Sunderland, and talks between the clubs are continue to arrange a fee for the experienced midfielder.
Xhaka will provide extensive expertise, not only in international football, but also in the Premier League. Despite being 32 years old, the Swiss midfielder played consistently for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last season, indicating that he is not yet past his prime.
Sunderland has spent a significant portion of its current transfer window recruiting young talent from around the world. As a result, a little experience here and there will be extremely beneficial, and Xhaka has plenty of it.
It’s unclear whether Sunderland’s business thus far will be enough to keep them in the Premier League, but the owners can’t be accused of failing to support their manager.
