BREAKING: Millwall Handed Fresh Mihailo Ivanovic Concern as Interested Club in ‘Talks’ Over Big Sale
Millwall have been dealt a fresh transfer blow amid growing uncertainty surrounding the future of their star striker, Mihailo Ivanovic.
The Serbian forward has been a standout performer since his arrival at The Den last summer, joining from Vojvodina in a deal worth around £2.8million. At just 20 years of age, Ivanovic has made a major impact in the Championship, scoring 13 goals in 38 league appearances and quickly establishing himself as one of the division’s brightest young attacking talents.
However, his success has inevitably drawn attention from abroad, and Italian outfit Parma are now emerging as serious contenders for his signature.
Reports from *Gazzetta di Parma* earlier this summer indicated that Millwall had placed a firm valuation of £13.8million on the striker, a price tag that initially appeared to deter the Serie A club. But according to fresh updates from *ParmaToday*, the situation has shifted dramatically — and not in Millwall’s favour.
Parma are now said to be in advanced talks to sell midfielder Simon Sohm to Fiorentina in a deal worth around £13million. If that move materialises, Parma are expected to immediately reinvest the funds in a push to sign Ivanovic, who is believed to be their top attacking target.
The Italian side reportedly view Ivanovic as the ideal long-term addition to bolster their forward line, and with the potential sale of Sohm unlocking the required funds, Millwall’s resolve could soon be tested.
For Lions boss Alex Neil, the developments are far from ideal. Ivanovic was one of the club’s marquee signings and has been central to Neil’s plans as Millwall look to push towards the playoff picture in the 2025/26 campaign.
Losing the striker just weeks before the new season begins would be a significant setback — both in terms of the club’s ambitions and morale — and would leave Millwall scrambling for a replacement in a market that is becoming increasingly inflated.
While the club remain hopeful of keeping hold of their young star, the financial pressures of Championship football mean that a bid nearing £14million may be difficult to turn down, particularly with Ivanovic’s value likely to peak if he continues his current trajectory.
Millwall fans will be hoping the club can stand firm, but with Parma now manoeuvring behind the scenes, this could turn into one of the summer’s defining transfer sagas for the South London side.
As it stands, much depends on whether Fiorentina complete the purchase of Simon Sohm — a move that could unlock the funds needed to prise Ivanovic away from SE16. Until then, Millwall supporters will watch and wait nervously, hoping their prized asset remains at The Den.
