Slough Town share spoils with Reading but young guns are shot down by Thame
Slough Town participated in a few friendly games yesterday (Tuesday), playing Reading FC behind closed doors at
the Royals Bearwood Training Ground with a squad that was mostly from the first team.
Later on Tuesday, a young Rebels team, primarily composed of players from the Elite Development Squad (EDS),
headed to Thame United.
In the first match, which started at noon, the Rebels and a young Royals team drew 1-1.
The first game took place at midday with the Rebels playing out a 1-1 draw with a youthful Royals side.
Scott Davies, the player manager for Slough, described the match as a “really good work out” for his new team as
they continue to align and grow in preparation for the next National League South.
Davies remarked, “A really good work out this morning at against Reading,” in reference to the Royals test. It’s
wonderful to see some old acquaintances as well.
