Reading FC receive additional tickets for opening day trip
After selling out the first batch of tickets in a single day, Reading has been given more tickets for the League One season opener versus Lincoln City.
On August 2, the Royals go to Sincil Bank in hopes of starting the new season with a victory.
Since their return to League One in 2023, Reading has lost one game and drew one at the home of the Imps, and they haven’t won in Lincoln since 1985.
Less than a week before Christmas in 2024, more than 900 fans travelled for a 2-0 loss on a Saturday lunchtime, and more than that number had signed up within 24 hours for the opening day kickoff at 3pm.
The total number of tickets available has increased to 1,325 after an additional 330 were made accessible.
The ‘new ground’ factor that came with being demoted and Sky Sports selection are probably to blame for Reading’s slight decline from the previous season, when they averaged over 1,000 away fans at each game.
Additionally, tickets for the Carabao Cup’s first round away trip against Championship team Portsmouth are now available.
When Reading last came to Fratton Park, they were defeated 4-1 by the champions-elect in 2024.
Last week, more than 22,000 fans attended Tottenham Hotspur’s preseason visit to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Only the Sir John Madejski Stand is open to home fans this Saturday when Pompey travels to Berkshire for the final friendly of the summer.
