John Eustace backs duo to ‘drive standards’ after double Derby County transfer
DerbyshireLive provides you with the most recent Derby County news, including the Rams head coach’s comments regarding two new players.
Danny Batth and Andi Weimann will help raise his standards in Derby County’s locker room, according to John Eustace, but he also believes the two will contribute significantly to the team’s quality on the field.
After both Weimann and Batth turned down the opportunity to remain at Blackburn Rovers, Eustace completed transfers for them earlier this month.
After learning from Eustace at Ewood Park the previous season before he joined the Rams in February, the two were eager to play under him once more.
Weimann, who has returned for a second stint at Derby, scored nine goals for the team last season, and Batth played more than 40 games for Rovers, who almost missed out on the playoffs.
Eustace believes that the two’s extensive experience will be crucial in the dressing room given the intensity and pressure of the Championship.
However, Derby’s head coach claims they will contribute significantly on the pitch as well.
“I think they will keep calm heads in that dressing room,” he said.
“There’s going to be difficult moments throughout the season, but they’ve been there and done it, and they know how to get through it.

“They know how I like to work as well so they can drive my standards in the dressing room, but they’ve also got a big part to play on the pitch.
