A talent from Ipswich Town who can “dominate League One” is being backed by Luton Town.

The Hatters’ two consecutive Premier League relegations, which sent them to the third division, have made the past two seasons incredibly painful. In order for the team to rebuild and eventually get back into the running for a spot in the top division, Luton will now be trying to assemble a team that can guarantee automatic promotion back to the Championship.
Given that teams like Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United failed to exit League One last season after being relegated from the Championship, Luton needs to overcome this obstacle right now. Many players have come and gone from Kenilworth Road this summer, as was to be expected given relegation, and the team is still looking to sign more players before the deadline of September 1st. In light of this, a Luton Town supporter on FLW has listed one player he hopes the Hatters will sign this summer.
Luton Town supporter Simon Mills told Football League World that he thinks the Hatters should make every effort to get Ipswich Town forward Ali Al-Hamadi. According to TWTD, the Hatters are interested in signing him. It is thought that if Al-Hamadi moves to Kenilworth Road, he may “dominate League One.”
“Al-Hamadi from Ipswich is the player I would most like to see Luton Town sign between now and the end of the window,” Simon stated. “I believe he would be a perfect fit for us. In my opinion, he would rule League One, and the players around him at Luton would only help him succeed. Of course, we would aim to build on a strong season this year and carry it into the Championship the following year.
| Ali Al-Hamadi Championship stats – as per Transfermarkt | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Season | Division | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2024/25 | Championship (Stoke City) | 15 | 2 | 0 |
| 2023/24 | Championship (Ipswich Town) | 14 | 4 | 1 |
“Ipswich’s Al-Hamadi is unquestionably the person I would choose to pay what they demand and get him into the club.” To completely replace Carlton Morris’ departure, the Hatters need a younger forward who can handle the demands of a 46-game season better than the Bermudian, even though Luton Town has signed the seasoned Nahki Wells, who should perform admirably on the goal front in League One.
Finding the middle ground in League One might be just what is required to bring out the best in Al-Hamadi and get the goals flowing, as the 23-year-old has only scored six goals in the second division and the class jump from League Two to the Championship has apparently been too much for him.
