According to Turkish media, Sunderland is reportedly interested in Gabriel Sara and Baris Alper Yilmaz, two Galatasaray players.
After making an impression for the Super Lig winners the previous season, the two players have been linked to Premier League moves this summer.
According to Sabah Today, Sunderland is “knocking on the door” for the Galatasaray pair, indicating their interest in them.
According to the source, it would cost at least €60 million to recruit either player, and the Black Cats have not yet made an offer. The Turkish daily claims that the Galatasaray management will not participate in the negotiations if Sunderland fails to meet this price.
However, given the recent additions made by the North East team, Sunderland’s pursuit of Sara and Ylimaz may be called into doubt.
With the acquisitions of Simon Adingra and Chemsdine Talbi, Sunderland has already made significant investments in wide attacking areas. To sign Ylimaz in positions they already have filled for the upcoming season, a bid of at least €30 million, and possibly more than €40 million, would be required.
Additionally, it doesn’t seem necessary to bring in Sara with Granit Xhaka’s impending arrival, Enzo Le Fée’s permanent signing, and Habib Diarra Noah Sadiki.
It’s possible that the Turkish media is overreacting to this.
