Lee Hendrie believes Harvey Knibbs will be a good purchase for Charlton Athletic this summer.
According to RDG Today, the Addicks have agreed to pay Reading about £1.8 million for the 26-year-old.

Knibbs has spent the previous two seasons with the Royals in League One, appearing 88 times. During that span, he scored 25 goals and assisted 12 times, helping the club finish 17th and seventh, respectively.

Nathan Jones backed to get the most out of Harvey Knibbs
Hendrie feels Knibbs will easily adjust to life in the Championship under Nathan Jones.
He believes the player will meet the needs of the London club next season as they seek to return to the second level.
“Good signing,” Hendrie said exclusively to Football League World.
“Nathan Jones will bring the best out of him.
“I don’t believe it’s a gamble at all.
“I think with the style that they play, I think he’ll fit the bill for Charlton and knowing that Nathan Jones, and his drive to push players on, I think he will get the best out of him.”
Charlton’s Summer Business
Knibbs will be Charlton’s latest addition in what has been a busy summer market for the newly promoted club.
The Addicks have already signed Charlie Kelman, Reece Burke, Rob Apter, Tanto Olaofe, Thomas Kaminski, and Joe Rankin-Costello on permanent contracts.
Free agent deals were also agreed with Amari’i Bell and Sonny Carey, as the London club looks to strengthen ahead of the new season. Charlton will start their season at home against Watford on August 9 at 12.30pm at the Valley.

Knibbs’ signing has potential for Charlton
Knibbs has done well for Reading over the last two League One seasons, so it’s no surprise he’s attracting so much attention.
A deal of £1.8 million has a lot of upside for Charlton, as he may be worth much more if he makes a smooth transition to the Championship.
He has a proven track record of scoring goals, something Jones’ team will require in order to compete at this level.
It’s encouraging that the club has been so active in the market and has put so much effort into their return to the second tier, giving them the chance to stay in the level for more than a year.
