Atletico Madrid make shock ‘exploratory survey’ for Brighton player – Seagulls in hunt for permanent transfer
After spending the 2024–2025 season on loan at Burnley, Jeremy Sarmiento of Brighton & Hove Albion is now looking to depart the Seagulls permanently.
Calciomercato. According to the source, the 23-year-old is open to transferring to Spain even if he has a strong market in the Premier League.
In order to secure his signature, Atletico Madrid conducted a “exploratory survey” and asked Brighton about the terms of a possible contract.
According to Calciomercato, Brighton is willing to sell Sarmiento permanently since they do not consider him as a key component of their plan for this season or beyond under Fabian Hurzeler.
The winger played 35 games in the Championship when he was at Burnley, helping the team get promoted to the Premier League with four goals and two assists.
He also helped Ipswich Town get into the Premier League during his time there. Perhaps Atletico Madrid is a bit of an idealistic goal.
